Hundreds of Americans have become sick after consuming white, red, yellow, and sweet onions contaminated with salmonella. The onions were farmed and distributed by Thomson International Inc®.
The onions were sold individually or were sold in food made with onions, such as chicken salad, macaroni salad, stir fry, and more. The CDC is recommending that all consumers check their homes for these contaminated onions. Additionally, the agency stated that consumers should not try to cook the onions in order to make them safe.
