The Link Between Certain Herbicides & Parkinson's

For over half a century, paraquat dichloride has been used as a commercial-grade agricultural herbicide and is now one of the most commonly used herbicides today. Although the use of commercial-grade herbicides with this ingredient has increased dramatically in recent years due to herbicide-resistant weeds, there has been a link to the development of Parkinson's disease by numerous independent studies.

The Risks

A study conducted by the National Institute of Health® has found a 2.5x higher risk of developing Parkinson's in those who used certain commercial herbicides. Due to its high toxicity, the EPA announced required training for certified applicators who use products that contain certain ingredients.
