A recent CDC & FDA press release announced that Fresh Express bagged salad mix has been found to be contaminated with Cyclospora, a contaminant that may cause severe food poisoning.
The salad mix contains iceberg lettuce, carrots, and red cabbage. The mix is also sold under the Fresh Express®, ALDI Little Salad Bar®, Giant Eagle®, Hy-Vee®, Jewel Osco Signature Farms®, ShopRite®, and Walmart Marketside® brand names.

It has been reported that over 500 Americans have suffered from Cyclospora contamination as a result of consuming bagged salad mix sold by a variety of stores.
The recall includes bagged salad mixes that contain the letter "Z" at the beginning of the product code, followed by "178" or lower. The salad mix is believed to have been supplied from Mexico. The salad mix was also sold across the United States.
